Since 1990

Alan Pettingale brings over thirty years of professional experience in masonry repair systems. He trained in the UK in historic masonry, working on structures such as the ancient York Wall. He first came to the US to visit family stationed at Ft. Knox, and was invited to give a presentation to the Corps of Engineers. From this event, he realized there was a strong need for his skills and services in the US, so relocated to Texas.

Alan is an affable ex-pat Brit, with an ability to work well with both clients and design professionals to resolve masonry problems. His primary focus is on historical and commercial properties that require highly specialized masonry treatments.

Alan Pettingale, founder of SMR,  has extensive expertise in the application of masonry restoration for schools, churches, colleges, historical, residential and commercial buildings.

Alan insists on a constant evaluation of new restoration techniques. This allows for a wealth of innovative solutions for modern strategies in masonry stabilization, which he applies effectively and efficiently. Alan also brings an extensive knowledge and years of  experience in managing teams and subcontractors.
